You Are Light

Christmas is truly a season of light. How wonderful it is to see decorative lights sprinkled everywhere in every color!

This week also marks the celebration of the Feast of Dedication (Hanukkah) or Festival of Lights. Because of this, I am reminded of the words our Heavenly Father spoke through Jesus at the same Feast many years ago (John 10: 22-33). He said,

Let us look at how: Light the exposes shadows in Psalm 23

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand (vs 27, 28, NKJV)

Light the exposes shadows in Psalm 23

Could it be by coincidence or by Divine design that the year of 23 (reminiscent of Psalm 23) will soon be here? I perceive we will see some unexpected and memorable events (as rare as snow flurries in Florida!).

Undeniably, shadows will emerge when obstacles are exposed to light. We can anticipate this! But even more importantly, the shadows confirm the nearness of His Light, as well as the very special anointing that accompanies it!

What a great time to be found in the Good Shepherd’s Fold!

The nearness of God's Light. God's cast as a King's chest piece amid a line of pawns.

(Have you noticed how the longest and most foreboding shadows shrink to nothing when the sun arises? Even our own shadow tucks neatly under our feet!)

Our Good Shepherd has promised to walk through every shadowy path with us (even when we walk through fire and flood). So, shouldn’t we expect that He will cast His Light in every dark place?

After all, He is Emmanuel (God with us). (Matthew 1:22-23)

He is Light. (1 John 1:5)

And so are we! (Ephesians 5:8)

To old friends and new:

Thank you for walking with me through year 2022. I truly appreciate you!

As we continue to walk in the Light

… and into a truly memorable (and anointed) 2023,

I pray that you will experience the overflowing abundance of love, joy and peace found in our Lord Jesus. Amen!
