The Scrolls of Life

Life is written in scrolls of life which must be decoded.

Everyone’s life is written in Scrolls of Life that includes codified details that can only be known and deciphered by the Author of Life. In this post we discuss:

Your life is written in a book. What genre is it?

Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me” Psalm 40:7 (NKJV)

The Bible reveals that before we are knitted together in the womb, our lives were “written” by God. This life story contains every opportunity we will ever have: our birth date, when we will draw our last breath, where we will live, who we will marry, and what we will create or accomplish. Only an Author who sees our end from our beginning could achieve this. Particularly, One who has numbered our days (Psalm 139:15-16, Jeremiah 1:5, Acts 17:26). Each scroll or book is unique, no two alike.

Where are these Scrolls?

The Bible tells us indirectly. God the “Word” became flesh and lived among us as the man, Jesus Christ of Nazareth (John 1:14). The Bible is the written version of this living Word (Jesus). It’s not just a history book but a detailed account of the supernatural God and how he relates to humanity.

Similarly, each person has a written version of his or her life on a Scroll of destiny authored by God. When we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, we receive His Spirit. Over time, the Holy Spirit reveals our hidden lives in Him. We no longer exist as separate entities. Furthermore, these life Scrolls are in Jesus, the Word as Life. This “Life” is spiritual Light, a force with written “codes”, frequencies, instructional blueprints, and designs that transform us to be like Jesus. (John 1:12, Romans 8:29, 1 John 4:17b, 2 Peter 1:3, Psalm 139: 13-16)

Each of our Scrolls is codified and hidden in the Scriptures (Jesus the Word) until we come to the knowledge of Christ. Furthermore, we live, move and exist in Him (Jesus) (Colossians 3:3, Acts 17:28)

Is the Bible Code real?

Researchers have unraveled hidden messages through the Bible Code (or Torah Code).

Letter characters at specific intervals mysteriously spell out names, words and associated events.

The cryptic Bible Code confirms the present and past with incredible accuracy: names, dates, and events. Yet, this Code is more than mere words identified by supercomputers. In reality, the most brilliant minds cannot understand it. The Bible is so complex that many have discarded it as nonsense or treated it merely as a historical compilation of religious writings. But could these words contain the codex of life?

We know words manifest as sound, and sound waves are light frequencies. God tells us that His Light is the Life of men (John 1:4), and His Word is Life and can heal our bodies! (Proverbs 4:20-22)

Can we “read” our life story before we live it?

The Scriptures teach us how to live godly, fruitful lives, but God knows the future, and He reveals what He chooses, when, and to whom. No man, angel, or devil can accurately predict the future because God hides the codex of Life and the pathways to destiny and fate.

God strictly forbids all forms of divination: which leads to loss, death, and destruction. (Deuteronomy 18:14, 2 Kings 21:6). In contrast, God’s will for us is life and abundance. He calls us to a pathway of hope, full of light and growing ever brighter. (John 10:10; Proverbs 4:18)

Spiritual dreams, visions and prophecies reveal our destiny.

Visions are clear snapshots of our scripted destination or God’s plans for us. At the same time, dreams are parabolic (dark sayings) clues or signposts to aid us on the journey. (Numbers 12:6-8)

Parables hide information in plain sight and protect us from destiny thieves (the world, our flesh, and the devil). The parabolic “language” in dreams requires interpretation. In truth, no one grasps the whole meaning until, in hindsight.

We make a “choice” to surrender.

Being a child of God affords us access to God’s plans. Unfortunately, we do not automatically do His “written” Will. Jesus, in His sobering Sermon on the Mount, spoke about some “believers” who will do extraordinary and generous things. However, God will not accept their work in the end. Why? They chose their own will above God’s will. (Matthew 7: 21-23)

We may use our gifts and talents liberally, but we need supernatural guidance to fulfill our destinies. The Holy Spirit “interprets” the complexities of the “script.” He gives us understanding, but we must “choose” to embrace His Word and His way. To help rid us of hindrances and distractions (our good intentions, preferences, and rights), He often leads us off the beaten path to a wilderness where we will find it easier to hear Him.

How do we fulfill God’s written plans?

How did David, a shepherd boy, grow up to be a great king? It was written.
And how did Joseph, the son of Jacob, transition in one hour from prisoner to Vice President of Egypt? It was written.

God tells us how to fulfill our destinies. Life is written in the “scrolls of the book” of Life. As such, we must obey God’s Word to accomplish His Will.

Psalm 40: 7-8 says, “Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me. I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”

We may read and pray the Holy Scriptures and declare like Jesus, “It is written.” Praying in the Spirit (often called Praying in Tongues) yields prayers perfectly aligned with God’s Will because only the Holy Spirit knows the mind of God (1 Cor 2:11).

The Lord may also lead us to pray what He shows us through dreams, visions, and God-inspired imaginations. As we daily agree with and “call into being” what God has in writing about us, we fulfill His Will (Romans 4:17). Consequently, we must also resist the enemies of our destiny.

Can you miss your destiny?

We must choose wisely. One wrong choice can be very costly. God knows every good or bad influence we will face and every right or wrong choice we will ever make. He spares no effort to help us to arrive at our destination and assigns His angels to help us along the way. But those who willfully reject God after they have known Him “forsake their own Mercies.” (Jonah 2:8)

Some have not yet met the Lord but will. Others desire to meet Him… but later. They detest the “wilderness” or refuse to disentangle from the lure of this world or delay until they are old or sick. How unwise this is. Who can predict when the end will come?

We all venture off track at times, but repentance and seeking God’s forgiveness bring us back to God’s will. Still, some worry that they have gone too far off script or have entirely missed their destinies. If that describes you, please read Steppingstones to Destiny.

All the world’s a stage

When the great English playwright and poet William Shakespeare wrote:

All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances;

He was not far from the truth. The Author of Life has written our scripts and our audience is “a great cloud of witnesses” (Hebrews 12:1-2). We are part of a cast. We must “read” the script and play our unique roles. Until the final curtain, may it be as “it is written.” Amen.

  1. Nowhere the Bible tells us that God would have become flesh to live among us as the man, Jesus Christ of Nazareth and then to fake His death (because God cannot die) and to fake His resurrection from the dead.

The Word that became flesh is the promises (the spoken word in the Garden of Eden) that became a reality when the son of man, Jeshua ben Josref or Jesus Christ as the seed of David or the son of David, became born in Bethlehem.
