The Dawn

Hot cup of coffee at dawn.

I awakened early this morning, at dawn, and prayed. Then as I lay pondering personal and global events, my Soul sighed, “It’s been a long night season.” Unexpectedly, I heard,

I paused. Was this a reference to one of the 4 or 5 women I know with that name? But the Voice of the Holy Spirit continued,

“Can anyone stop the Dawn?”

“Who awakens the Dawn?” (Psalm 108:2)

“Who commands the morning?” (Job 38:12)

I am always surprised when God responds to my thoughts (Matthew 9:4, Luke 5:23, Luke 6:8)

Scriptures flooded my memory, and it became clear that interesting things happen early in the morning:

The Lord’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentation 3:22-23).

Joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5).

The women went to Tomb very early in the morning expecting to find Jesus’ dead body, but they discovered Jesus Christ had been resurrected. Overwhelmed with joy, Mary Magdalene clung to Him. (Mark 16:1-9, John 20:16-18).

The Sun of righteousness will arise with healing in His wings. (Malachi 4:2) (Matthew 14:35-36)

Later, I looked up Scriptures and photos and realized that sunrise and sunset look similar. They are both transitional lighting to light or darkness, so in the spirit (and dreams), it may be hard to discern which you are transitioning to. Therefore, hearing that God has commanded the Dawn was most encouraging.

Has your night season been long? Be encouraged, dear one. The night will end because God has already commanded the Dawn. Amen!
