I want to add that after you have determined that the dream is spiritual, you still must discern the meaning of a color as used in the context of the dream. Colors can have positive or negative meanings. For example, red could mean the blood of Jesus or the anointing, but the negative meaning could be anger or war. Green may be growth, life, prosperity, but the negative meaning may be envy or pride.
Great question, Aurelie! 😀 Vivid, bright colors and bright lighting typically means the dream is from the Holy Spirit. 1 John 1:5 says God is Light and in Him there is no darkness at all. Colors are only one clue. We must also look at the content and message of a dream. A false dream can look bright and colorful, but you can tell from the content or message that the dream does not align with the Word of God. Our souls are in the process of being redeemed. (Our bodies will be redeemed when the dead in Christ are resurrected – 1 Corinthians 15). Sometimes the soul will align with our flesh instead of with our spirit. In these cases, the soul is not submitted to the Holy Spirit and likes to take the lead. When the soul is aligned with the flesh, there will be a dimming of light and colors typically look washed out. Our flesh nature likes to take charge instead of submitting. Black and white or grayscale dreams are usually from the kingdom of darkness. We discuss dark dreams in the Becoming a Dream Warrior course. Hope this helps. – Jacquie
